Verkehrsspinne Kärnten   The first class hotel Amerika-Holzer is located in the most southern county of Austria directly at the lake Klopeiner See – 1,8 km long, 800 m wide and 49 m deep is the warmest lake of Austria with drinking water quality and water temperatures up to 29°C


journey by car


  • The touristic region is reachable coming from north along the A8 (Munich-Salzburg) continuing on the A10 ("Tauernautobahn") until Villach, then on the A2 (Süd Autobahn) direction: Vienna until the exit Grafenstein (Klopeiner See) and on the main road B70 in the direction Klopeiner See.
  • coming from south also take the highway A10 (Tauernautobahn) until Villach and exit the A2 (Süd Autobahn, direction Vienna) at the exit Grafenstein (Klopeiner See). Take the main road B70 until you reach the Klopeiner See (follow road labels).
  • Coming from east take the highway A2 (Süd Autobahn) in the direction Klagenfurt until the exit Völkermarkt Ost (east) and continue via Völkermarkt to the lake Klopeiner See.

The touristic region Klopeiner See is very close to the airport Flughafen Klagenfurt (approx. 20 km)
Ryanair flights connect the airport London Stansted directly to the airport Klagenfurt, TUIfly connects the airports Cologne;ln/Bonn – Hannover – Hamburg and Berlin to the airport Klagenfurt.

More airlines head for the airports Graz or Ljublijana at low fares (Ryanair, Easyjet, etc.).
The taxi "Kärnten Shuttle" takes you from the airport to your accomodation.

You can also book cheap journeys via the airport Flughafen Salzburg (for example with the airlines Transavia, TUIfly, etc.). Here, we offer a transfer shuttle from Salzburg to our hotel Amerika-Holzer for Euro 65,– per person for one way.

Railway tickets from/to the whole of Austria directly into your holiday region Klopeiner See - south Carinthia, Austria, e.g. to Klagenfurt, Tainach or Kühnsdorf. The taxi Kärnten Shuttle takes you from any station (Klagenfurt, Tainach-Stein, Kühnsdorf, etc.) for (from) Euro 9,90 per person to your accommodation.
